Life

Chloe was having a day with a bad case of static!
I haven't really documented much about our lives up here at Fort Knox, and I love reading back on places we have been, so I better get busy!

I've decided the weather in Kentucky is a lot like Arkansas, only a little colder and even more unpredictable. Today we are having up to 55 mph winds and this week we are supposed to have snow/rain mix several days.I have never experienced a really cold windy day like this before, I'm talking CRAZY wind. Chloe could barely stand in one place. The predicted temperatures never happen either, and change drastically throughout the week. I don't know, it is just different here. We had some snow yesterday morning too, it was beautiful!

Until our trip to Louisville last week, I wasn't a big fan of our area in KY. I do think it is pretty and Fort Knox is nice, but as far as stuff to do around here things seem about 10 years behind or so. The neighborhood we live in is a very sleepy little neighborhood. It is quiet and friendly, but seems kind of lonely to me. Lately I have been homesick. I am so ready for Christmas in Arkansas. The other night we went to Sonic because we haven't since we have been here and it reminds us of Sheridan haha! It just wasn't the same :) I do like our house here. Our stuff fits perfectly and we are getting addicted to the fireplace. We are very close to post (close enough that Chloe goes nuts when the tankers are practicing, it sounds like loud thunder). The town we live in is small, not as small as home but still pretty small. We finally discovered a part of Louisville that I love! It has everything...2 huge malls (Macy's!) within a couple of blocks of each other, restaurants that we love and don't have in ce02nt10r10a800000000000000000l++ (that says central but Jackson wanted to help) Arkansas, and a Babies R Us right next to Chick Fil A. It is about an hour drive from here in traffic, but nice to have around. The night life in downtown Louisville looks awesome, but we may never know haha! Anyway it seems like a really cool town.

I have been feeling kind of depressed "ish". One reason is that when family visits and then has to leave I get sad for a couple of days afterwards. I'm not really down about anything, and Jackson and Jeremy keep me smiling, but I just can't get motivated to do anything and I guess I feel kind of confined or something. The weather has been too cold and rainy to get out and every day is the SAME. We look forward to Jeremy coming home from work and that is about it. I love my time with Jackson. We play and have a great routine, but I think he even gets cabin fever sometimes. My point is that I think we need to figure something out that we can both do and enjoy outside of this house!! Oh and it doesn't help that people usually don't tend to lose weight by staying "cooped" up....in other words I haven't weighed this much since I was pregnant. :-/. This all must change!

Baby Jack is growing like a weed. He is just almost walking. He is standing on his own without even realizing it. He is a very happy boy. His 9 month appointment is next Tuesday.

We get to go home next weekend and stay until the 2nd of January. I am so excited! It is going to be pretty fast paced but fun. Then all the new basic trainees get here and Jeremy will have to start working weird hours and longer days when we get back. We are hoping the break drags on and on because January is going to be rough.

Well baby boy is needing me so until next time her are some pictures
The night before Brian left we drove through a park on the lake that was decorated with lights.

Jackson was loving it, yes I held him while we drove through it because we rolled the window down and he was so into all the lights. It was cold so I had to keep him warm and plus there was music playing and he needed to get out of his seat to fully experience his first time looking at lights :)

Right before I got him out of his seat.

He loved Charlie Brown Christmas

Always happy after bath time

They are really starting to play well together and he laughs so hard at her! Jack has learned to howl, so in the picture below they are both howling at me. His is more of a squeal at this point.
Have a great weekend!

Amanda,
Jackson is adorable. And I can't believe he is trying to walk...and I haven't even seen him yet! LOL Hope to see you when you come home and I know you will enjoy the holidays with your family. Remember though, until then, just keep your eyes focused on the Lord and he will help you through your homesick blues. Keep focused and remember HE is carrying YOU. Give it all to him, Let Go and Let God. Enjoy your days with Jackson while he is little. This is the time you embrace it. I know about homesick, although I haven't been that way much in my life by living somewhere else...but I still can understand. Keeping in touch with those that you love also will help. Hope you, Jackson, and Jeremy have a safe trip home. And MERRY CHRISTMAS SWEETIE!!!
Love,
Leslie
