10 Week Update/Mom's Trip

>

I think I will finally be caught up, again! It is taking me forever to update this time because my little baby boy Jackson is being extra high maintenance. I'm not complaining though! I love holding him. He has been pleasant and happy, but if he wakes up he wants to be talked to or held or preferrably both and he lets you know about it pretty quick. Last week we had his 2 month appointment at the lovely Tripler Army Medical Center. He weighed in at 13.2 pounds and was 22.2 inches long. He has already gained almost 5 pounds since birth. I am so ready to get back to Arkansas and have a real pediatrician. Jackson and I both saw the same general family practicioner, because there aren't any open pediatricians for army babies until you see a general doctor first then request a pediatrician after that . I debated on putting this on the blog, but whatever I don't even care. That place is a joke. After the doctor (young guy TRAINING another doctor) did Jackson's exam, it was my turn. He wanted to do a 2 week follow up obstetrician exam on me. Hello you just did a 2 month check up on my baby?! So I tell him that I had my 2 week follow up in Arkansas and he didn't understand how, because she was supposed to wait 2 full weeks before she did anything. Well, she did, she waited 4 weeks actually. He says...."how is that possible when you just had your baby 2 weeks ago?" Seriously, what a clown (he was a nice clown but that doesn't help much). Thank the Lord that a different department did his vaccinations. There is no way that doctor was
1) administering anything to my baby
2) doing an exam on me

He was supposed to refer him to a baby orthopedic because we had some concerns about Jackson's shoulder popping...nothing big. He never put the referral in. He was supposed to sign and fill out a paper for me for command sponsorship. He puts a stamp on the paper and wishes me luck, never even filled it out. We filled out papers that answered all kinds of questions about Jackson's levels of improvement. He was supposed to look over them and them keep them in his file. He never looked at them and left without them. I had to give them to the nurse for his file. Anyway, we aren't going back to Tripler for anything. I had already heard so many horror stories about that place, but I never knew it was that bad.

Jackson turned 10 weeks old Friday. He is paying lots of attention to the t.v, and smiles when he sees you sometimes. He is starting to drool lots more, blows bubbles and chews and sucks on his hands/fingers. He is holding his head up much better. I can sit him in my lap and he sits up really good. He is also already experimenting in his Baby Einstein. It is meant for 4+ months but he likes it already. He is still standing up really well in my lap when he holds my fingers. He watches people from a distance and is cooing and squealing a lot. He makes more noises every day. He has started grabbing at different things a little just the past couple of days. Before, he would grab my hair and wouldn't let go. He is still doing that a lot! His eyes are going to be hazel I think. The inner rim is turning a brownish green color and the outer part is still dark blue.

The first time I tried to upload my pics, Blogger messed them all up. So here they all are again. I don't have time to do captions all over again unfortunately, but there are pics from the Luau, Pearl Harbor, Our sunset catamaran cruise, Mine and Jeremy's night out in Waikiki and Margaritaville, a Buddhist Temple, Hanuama Bay snorkeling and at Bellow's.
