Barney got his wish
He is tired of being out numbered! We are all very excited and I can't wait to meet my little prince. I will update more tomorrow with ultrasound and Halloween pictures. I am so exhausted and can't bring myself to do any more. I can't explain how happy I am though :) We get a BOY! We've had a boy name picked out since last year but I'll talk to Jeremy and make sure we are still sticking to it. Our new due date is March 27th!

What we've been up to
Grandpa and grandma walked over the other night and i swear these dogs are like their grandkids :)
Chloe still stays very close to Barney. Our heater hasn't been working, but the guy finally came and fixed it a couple of days ago. Just in time! The babies still cuddle though. Awww
I know, enough about the dogs! Tonight I went to Benton to get some VERY much needed larger....supportive articles of clothing. heehee. I was miserable. Anyway, afterwards I met Jana Autumn and Tori for supper at Chili's. It was for Autumn's birthday. As usual, we had lots of fun and laughs! We are going to start getting together more because we have way too much fun.
Clockwise from the blonde:) Jana, me, Autumn, Tori
I went to Petco with Jana after we ate and got Chloe a harness. It is too small though, so now I have to take it back. Grandpa and I have been walking in the evenings and he is teaching her how to walk like a good girl and not a crazy girl so she needs a harness. She keeps choking herself on her collar. Barney is very good though. Woops, talking about my dog again!
Well Friday is the big day! I am so excited...so are Jana, Ashley, Mom and Grandma (they are all going with me). Jeremy is way excited too! He called the ultrasound office and worked something out with them. They weren't going to tape anything for me and they wouldn't let me tape at all. No video cameras. We weren't too happy about that. The DVD machine is broken at the office I'm going to.This is a huge nice radiology office and they only have one recorder? They kept apologizing saying there is nothing we can do. Anyway, he wouldn't take no for an answer and finally he talked to someone helpful. They agreed to hook up to a VHS recorder and I'll transfer it to DVD when we get home. They put it in my chart so we will see when we get there. The radiology place is in Baptist, floor 11. My OB is on floor 5. I am so ready to know, and very glad that the time is so near. I will update as soon as I get home Friday. I have no instincts anymore on what I'm having. At first I was so sure it was a BOY, Jeremy was so sure GIRL. Then I started believing GIRL and Jeremy still said GIRL. Now....I have no idea. Jeremy says GIRL. My poll over there says 12 people think girl and 12 say boy, so obviously we are all just clueless! Time will tell! I wouldn't be surprised if his/her legs were crossed or something. That is our luck!
October was the fastest month of the deployment so far, surprisingly. Jeremy and I were talking today about how time is just flying! He did great on his test he had to take to get into OCS and now he is working on finishing up his admission packet. He is still packing things every day to be shipped back to Hawaii! Things are winding down out there and moving so fast. We just hope this keeps up. I really can't believe it has been almost 11 months. Also, the pregnancy is almost halfway over! I am 18 weeks now and can't believe how easy it has been. I feel so lucky and blessed.
Week 18: Getting on Your Nerves
This week your baby is hitting the height chart at five and a half inches long (remember, that's crown to rump) and weighs about five ounces (the weight of that boneless chicken breast you're making for dinner).
And now for the skill of the week (drum roll please…): The art of the yawn has been mastered by your baby (someone's sleepy!). In fact, you might catch a glimpse of that adorable yawn if you're getting an ultrasound this month. You'll also catch a glimpse of all the movement your baby's doing — twists, rolls, kicks, and punches. And would you believe your baby is finally big enough for you to start feeling those movements now (or anytime in the next few weeks). So get ready!
Something you won't see on the ultrasound, but you'll know is in working order, is your baby's nervous system, which is maturing rapidly at this time. Nerves, now covered with a substance called myelin (which speeds messages from nerve cell to nerve cell), are forming more complex connections. And those in the brain are further specializing into the ones that serve the senses of touch, taste, smell, sight, and hearing. Talking about hearing, your baby's is growing more acute, making your little one more conscious of sounds that come from inside your body (which means you could both be listening to each other hiccup — a skill that your baby has by now).
And how's mom doing? POP! If you haven’t yet, you will soon be seeing the last of your inn-y belly button—until after you’ve pushed your little monkey out. If it’s getting difficult to breathe, you can thank your not-so-small belly for squishing your lungs—which will be more and more cramped for space as the pregnancy progresses. Not that this is surprising as everything else in your mid-section is getting properly squooshed as well. (What else is new?!!). Keep in mind that as you grow (and grow and grow) in size you produce more blood (for both of you), which lowers your blood pressure. So standing up quickly and/or occasional fast movements may cause slight dizziness or lightheadedness. This is totally normal, but means you shouldn’t be too quick to jump to your feet when your team scores a goal. It's better to just punch the air in excitement or clap gleefully. One more fun pregnancy symptom to add to the list: you are producing more melanin, which can cause dark patches of skin to occur on random parts of your body. Don’t worry—these dark spots will retreat soon after birth.

Who is ready for the holidays?
Tonight I think I hit a pregnancy milestone. I wasn't really feeling pregnant today. I guess that is part of the beauty of the second trimester. So tonight, out of nowhere, the little thumper in my belly decides to make his/her presence known. Seriously, more than ever. It is freaking me out a little bit. I'm thinking, if this keeps up I will be absolutely distracted for the next 5 months. AND when you touch my stomach directly below my belly button, on both sides but especially on the left side, it is like there is a melon in there. Hard as a rock! This is so strange for me, I might just wake Barney up to show him. Yesterday it wasn't like this at all. I'm sure all of the moms out there know what I am trying to say. It is so different when it happens to you! I don't really know if you are supposed to sleep on your stomach at this point, but I couldn't if I wanted to. It feels like you are laying on something hard, like you put a really firm small pillow under you.
Now for the army update
Jeremy is still doing fine out at Taji. Nothing new to report really. We will find out in January what school he will go to and where we will be stationed after he finishes Officer Candidate School in Georgia. OCS is a 3 month school that he will probably start around next July. He must complete this school to become an officer, then he gets his specialized training at our new post. During OCS, I will be traveling to Georgia at least once to see him (accompanied by our son or daughter of course and anyone else that wants to come along). So far, we figure we will be in Ft. Rucker Alabama after his OCS in Georgia. He wants to go into aviation and Ft. Rucker is where the 15 month training takes place. He can't get deployed during that 15 months! After Ft. Rucker who knows, we may very well be back in Arkansas.
Happy thought: He only has a little over 4 months left in Iraq, if that, then he will be back in the U.S.
I know all of the schools and training sounds confusing, but it works out. During all of that time, he will get to come home for around 2 months total, which will be very nice. He will get a 30 day block leave and then another leave before he starts OCS. In less than a year, Jeremy will get to be where he wants in his career and we will all be together as a family. In 5 months, I get to see him and we get to meet our baby! So there is our state of the union...did you get all of that? Lets see how much this changes in a year!

VFW/17 Weeks
Now for pictures from the weekend. We were at the VFW in Pine Bluff to see Brian sing with a new band that he is a part of. We didn't get home til 3:00 a.m. and I was so miserable. I just can't hang in there like before. The show was good though and I think everyone had fun. I took tons of pictures but a lot of them were blurry or too dark.
Brian's friends got out there and learned a lot!
Grandma and Grandpa
Me and Mom
Mom with Papaw Shoptaw and Rosie
The next 2 are Family &/Or Fans
For Mom's birthday we just hung out at grandma's and had cake and pizza. Brian picked out the design of mom's cake.
These 2 are still inseparable. Last night when I went to bed I found them like this.
Before that we were doing laundry and Chloe found her resting place. Somehow, she made it to the top!
Well, the pregnancy is still going great! No complaints here. It is much easier than I thought it would be so far.
Week 17
Your baby is about five inches long and more than three and a half ounces — the size of your open hand. Baby's body fat is beginning to form and will continue to accumulate through the end of your pregnancy.
How big is your baby now? About five inches long and more than three and a half ounces — the size of your open hand. (Open the other one too and imagine your baby cradled in both your arms right after delivery!) Body fat (baby's, that is) is beginning to form and will continue to accumulate through the end of your pregnancy. By the time your baby is born, body fat will make up about two-thirds of his or her weight (and will make all those chubby parts especially yummy). Your baby is almost certainly listening up by now. In fact, loud noises — the dog barking, the doorbell ringing — will actually startle your baby (and also get him or her used to such noises; for instance, fetuses who regularly hear a dog barking will become babies who sleep right through Fido's outbursts). Your baby's eyes (which have fortunately finished their migration to the front of his or her head) are making small side-to-side movements and can even perceive some light, though the eyelids are still sealed. And since practice makes perfect, your baby is sharpening his or her sucking and swallowing skills in preparation for that first (and second…and third) suckle at your breast or bottle. In fact, most of the survival reflexes that your baby will have at birth are being perfected in utero right now. And here's some proof that your baby is truly one of a kind (as if you needed any!). Within the next week or so, the pads on your baby's fingertips and toes will become adorned with completely individual swirls and creases (aka fingerprints).
And how's mom doing?
Even though the second trimester is often characterized as the most enjoyable of the three, you can count on a few ailments (see week 14 for additional tri-2 symptoms). This week, or in the coming weeks, you may be privy to the uncommon joys of “round ligament pain.” These not-so-lovely symptoms can doctors advise sleeping on your left side as lying on your back can compress your pelvic veins, decreasing blood return to the lower half of your body include bellyaches, pain in the And how's mom doing? Your suffering is due to stretched ligaments and muscles that support your ever-growing uterus. This is to be expected and is perfectly normal (especially since your uterus is only getting bigger!). Some doctors advise sleeping on your left side as lying on your back can compress your pelvic veins, decreasing blood return to the lower half of your body. Lying on your left side relieves this pressure thereby allowing normal blood flow. If this doesn’t do the trick, go ahead and consult your health care practitioner, but try not to punch them when they serenely tell you it’s normal to feel stabbing pain during this time. As we all know, violence never solves anything.

Hello Heartburn!
I noticed the voting is 50/50 again! 11 say girl and 11 say boy, if this were who wants to be a millionaire and ya'll were my lifelines I would get nowhere! Thanks to everyone for voting though. I find it very interesting and fun. Very soon we will know and you can probably tell I am anxious. It is very late and I can't sleep due to the fire in my chest, but I hope this makes some sense.

The Appointment Today....
My prediction:
So I debated on putting this video up but I guess I will. Grandma taped the heartbeat today at my appointment. Dr. Hubach said no way about being on tape ( I think she was kidding) and I told grandma just to get close to the Doppler so she could hear it...so the view is of my hand but you can really hear the thump! You may be able to hear some of the conversation during the clip, basically she said that the baby moved around right in the middle of us listening to the heartbeat, so she had to find the baby again. It was really weird! I am so glad that today's technology is allowing Jeremy to experience all of these moments that you would never think would be possible. So here is our little thumper. I wonder how many times Jeremy will listen to this....
Thank you grandma for taping this! You did a great job!

Texarkana and Week 16
We had a very long but entertaining night last night. Brian sang in Texarkana and of course we all went! I didn't get a video and I only got a couple of pictures. I felt ROUGH yesterday. It was a fun trip though! We didn't get home until around 2:00 this morning. I spilled water on my cell phone Friday night, so I have been having issues with it. I guess I'm going to have to get a new one soon. Brian sold lots of CD's (with an included picture and autograph). There was a long line for autographs, and people were waiting on him for more when the show was over.
Week 16
Month five has begun! This is a great time to plan a trip. Find out what you need to know to make your vacation fun, safe, and healthy.
How your baby's growing:Get ready for a growth spurt. In the next few weeks, your baby will double his weight and add inches to his length. Right now, he's about the size of an avocado: 4 1/2 inches long (head to rump) and 3 1/2 ounces. His legs are much more developed, his head is more erect than it has been, and his eyes have moved closer to the front of his head. His ears are close to their final position, too. The patterning of his scalp has begun, though his locks aren't recognizable yet. He's even started growing toenails. And there's a lot happening inside as well. For example, his heart is now pumping about 25 quarts of blood each day, and this amount will continue to increase as your baby continues to develop.
How your life's changing:The top of your uterus is about halfway between your pubic bone and your navel, and the round ligaments that support it are thickening and stretching as it grows. You're probably feeling a whole lot better as you settle into pregnancy, too. Less nausea, fewer mood swings, and "glowing" skin contribute to an overall sense of well-being.Soon you'll experience one of the most wonderful moments of pregnancy — feeling your baby move. While some women notice "quickening" as early as 16 weeks, many don't feel their baby move until about 18 weeks or more. (And if this is your first baby, don't be too impatient — you may not be aware of your baby's movements until 20 weeks or so.) The earliest movements may feel like little flutters, gas bubbles, or even like popcorn popping. Over the following weeks they'll grow stronger and you'll be able to feel them much more frequently.

2 posts in 24 hours...I'm back in the game
Notice the orange roses? They are October roses Jeremy tells me. You can only order them in the month of October. I just love them. Thanks babe!
The Living room is coming together finally and I really like it.
We had a girl's night tonight over at Autumn's house (high school and college friend and sorority sister). We had pizza, cookies, and planned on watching a movie. We never got to the movie because we talked the entire time. Tori brought her youngest child Cannon, he is 6 months old and so precious.
I got to hold Cannon and he is so sweet and cuddly!
Autumn and Tori playing with the lil man. I didn't get a pic with Jana in it tonight. She did that on purpose!
Here is my 15 week and 5 day baby bump pic.

Week 15/Brian Sings in Dumas
This week has been pretty rough. We have been working on the living room and hallway since Monday. We hope to be finished by tonight. I really like the new paint color and the new floor. It has really changed the look of our living room. The furniture goes back today and I am so ready. Everything is crammed into my kitchen and second bedroom/walk in closet. Anyway, grandpa and Brian have really been working hard and I appreciate it! Chloe has been doing the thing that Henry (my little brother, the wiener dog that we had for 15 years that we just lost last August)used to do all the time. She is finding sunbeams and laying in them. I took this just now.
I took a couple of pictures of the living room
Brian also sang in Timberfest last Friday, I forgot I haven't posted since then. He had lots of friends and family show up, I think we filled one entire set of bleachers.
Surprise Jeremy! Its a boy! :) Just Kidding, This is me and baby Austin Maddox Winbury. 6 weeks old.
Jana and my niece Emma Cotton, Lindsey's little girl.
I don't know if I have mentioned this on here, but I have been eating lemons a lot. I love them! I always have, but the past couple of weeks I have to have them. Anyone know what it means when you crave citrus/sour/salty? That is all I have wanted. I haven't cared much for sweets at all. I peel lemons and eat them like oranges and make really sour lemon water.
OK Jeremy, Finally the 15 Week Update.
The belt is getting tighter, your partner's big clothes may fit in the waist, but what about those hips and that belly? Feeling less than graceful and a little fuzzy-headed? These are all normal symptoms of pregnancy. You may feel Braxton Hicks contractions. These painless and random contractions can be thought of as your body warming up for the big event of birth. If you have more than five per hour, if they come at a steady pace, or if they're accompanied by intense cramps or backaches, call the doctor.
You finally look pregnant! As your bump grows, your internal organs are shifting positions to make room for your baby-to-be. Less room means you may not be able to eat large meals, but instead you'll need to eat more frequently to stay satisfied. Because of cramped tummy space, you may have heartburn and indigestion. Your blood flow has increased to provide extra nutrients—meaning more trips to the bathroom for you. You may also notice that you're retaining water.
While your pregnancy clumsiness may be frustrating, at least you have something to show for it! Your belly grows day by day as your unborn baby gets bigger. If you haven't bought maternity pants yet, you're probably thinking about it as you can barely button your jeans.
Pregnancy Brain Dropped anything lately? Tripped over nothing? Forget something you always remember—like the date? You may be experiencing a common complaint in pregnancy—scatterbrain. "Some of my patients call it 'placenta brain,'" says Dr. Joanne Motino Bailey, PhD, a certified nurse-midwife and a professor of women's studies at the University of Michigan. While there are no studies to support the existence of pregnancy scatterbrain, notes Dr. Bailey, there are some changes in your body which may account for your sudden clumsiness.
Changing center of gravity: The first reason you may be stumbling is obvious—you're getting bigger. As your belly grows outward, your whole center of gravity is thrown. After walking perfectly for years, your body now has to constantly realign itself to keep you upright—no wonder you're tripping.
While your baby-to-be is well cushioned in your belly, falling wouldn't be good for either of you. Opt for sneakers or flats instead of high heels. Take stairs slowly. And be mindful of your movements to avoid any serious spills.
Retaining water: Another reason you may think your losing your mind—your gripping sensation may be different because you're retaining water. Your swollen fingers may make it more difficult to pick something up. (Think about how much harder it is to grab something up with fuzzy gloves on.)
Loosened joints: For your belly to house your growing baby, your skin, muscles, and joints stretch and loosen. A pregnancy hormone, appropriately called relaxin, triggers this change. Just like you need to keep in mind your changing center of gravity, remember that your muscles aren't as tight as in pre-pregnancy days—take it easy! This Explains a lot! I thought I was coming down with something.
Fatigue: "We all know that we're not at our best when we're tired," says Dr. Bailey. "During pregnancy your body is under a great deal of stress, but it's hard to take the time out for an extra hour of sleep, which is really what you need." So it's not surprising that your constant state of tiredness may leave you not as sharp as in pre-pregnancy days.
If however, you find yourself overly clumsy, let your healthcare provider know about it. There may be something more going on than loose joints and lack of sleep.
You may be now experiencing the happiest pregnancy symptom of all—your baby is most likely a regular wiggler now! You may begin to feel a fluttering in your uterus.
All About Baby
At week 15, your baby-to-be stretches her limbs and bends at her elbows. She's getting big enough that you can feel many of these movements. This week your baby is roughly the size of a small apple or orange. Her bones are continuing to grow and lengthen. While she looks more like a baby, her skin is still thin and translucent with her veins visible. Your baby is also beginning to grow lanugo, a very fine hair. It will keep growing until around the 26th gestational week of pregnancy (that's week 28 of your pregnancy).

How Sweet
I felt my first "flutters" this week, and I knew exactly what was going on. It was really neat. I know I won't feel an actual kick for another 2 weeks (or less!). Anyway, this quote made me think about our situation more and I really do feel lucky even though he is gone for now. I am carrying around a little "us" while he is over there doing his job. So really, for the rest of this deployment I will never be alone again! Now if only he didn't have to be alone over there :( Maybe I should find a way to ship Chloe over to him :)
Happy October!
I like this quote. We try to go by it most of the time, but we all have our days! I think we try to make the best of everything by talking on the phone as much as possible. My family can tell you that we are on the phone a lot! We feel so lucky that we have the opportunity to talk as much as we do. We probably talk about 2 hours a day on average. It has really kept us close. Jeremy and I are at that stage of the deployment again where we are getting antsy. In the first half of the deployment, our bad month was February. I'm pretty sure the bad month in the second half was September. I guess month 2 is our breaking point. Jeremy will be back in Hawaii in 5 months! I know he is so ready. I wish I could be out there to meet him, but I don't think I need to get that far from my doctor or risk any craziness on the plane. It is still rough that we have to wait almost another month before he gets block leave (his 30 day vacation) . They were telling him yesterday that the troop is supposed to get their block leave around April 1st. I think that will be cutting it way TOO CLOSE!! He let them know that he really needed to be home by the 25th of March. They are going to try to make that happen. Well, we are used to this so there is no need stressing over it. Worst case scenario: I go into labor and he takes emergency leave...10 hours in the air and he is home. I don't think I'm lucky enough to have a quick labor anyway, so surely he can get here at least to hear the first cry. If he isn't there for at least some part of the delivery it may take a lot longer for reality to sink in that he has a baby. Ha! Ok, have just rambled every thought that crossed my mind the last 2 minutes that is probably enough on that.
Oh and I thought this was funny!
