9 Weeks

I get e-mail updates every week on what is going on with the baby. Here is my 9 week update:

9 Weeks
How your baby's growing:
Your new resident is an inch long — about the size of a grape — and weighs just a fraction of an ounce. She's starting to look more and more human. Her essential body parts are accounted for, though they'll go through plenty of fine-tuning in the coming months. Other changes abound: Your baby's heart finishes dividing into four chambers, and the valves start to form — as do her tiny teeth. The embryonic "tail" is completely gone. Your baby's organs, muscles, and nerves are kicking into gear. The external sex organs are there but won't be distinguishable as male or female for another few weeks. Her eyes are fully formed, but her eyelids are fused shut and won't open until 27 weeks. She has tiny earlobes, and her mouth, nose, and nostrils are more distinct. The placenta is developed enough now to take over most of the critical job of producing hormones. Now that your baby's basic physiology is in place, she's poised for rapid weight gain.

Well, I still think that I am pretty lucky so far. I haven't thrown up any at all. I get a little nauseated here and there, but for the most part I'm still feeling good. My headaches are not coming around as much either, so I'm thankful! Yesterday was rough because of the long night before I guess. My main problem is eating. When I wake up I am not hungry. When I finally eat something it makes my feel worse, and nothing ever sounds good. It is so strange...I used to love broccoli and now it sounds and smells so gross (just an example). The only drinks that sound good and don't make me feel bad are water and tea. I guess that's a good thing. Anyway, this is the only weird thing I'm experiencing....oh and the blue fingers, which I still dont know what is wrong with my circulation. I still feel fatigued quite a bit, but that isn't a big deal really.

Here is another video of Brian (from the KSSN website). The sound still isn't great but it is a better quality video. I know it is a long link :)
