We finally made it to Dave and Buster's tonight. We did a lot today actually. First we got the oil changed in the car. While we were there we shared some Korean Barbeque for lunch, its in a strip mall located across the street. It was only an hour wait at Flagship so no big deal! In Hawaii, most places have you make an appointment for your oil change. On post, they wanted to schedule me in on Friday. I said thanks anyway!! then we went to Dole Pineapple Plantation after we picked up the car.Mom got us a beautiful handmade wedding candle while we were there. It has our weding colors on it and everything, plus it is pineapple scented!! The whole room smells like pineapple and I haven't even lit the candle. It has a little Hawaiian wedding couple on the front. I love it!!
We had some Dole Whip there and then we drove most of the way around the island. It was a fun trip. I think it took not even 2 hours total. Mom had never seen that part of the island so I wanted to make sure she saw it today. Now she has officially seen all of Oahu!! The eastern shore is very green and lush. Its really pretty. I'm pretty sleepy so this is it for now! I have some pics from our trip today below. The sunset picture above was
our view from our booth in Dave and Buster's and this one below our waiter took :). Those drinks we were having are banana split cocktails. They are so good. The waiter told mom that it was a banana split only with a kick. He warned her that it was kind of strong. It had 99 Bananas in it (which is the name of a banana liquer). It was so funny because mom said "oh..hmmm well could I get it with 49 and a half bananas instead??" HAHA
Our dinner!! Delta chicken salad(tons of avocado yum!) and blackened chicken cajun alfredo. We shared. Plus, it was happy hour so we tried some tropical drinks and got some play cards for the games upstairs. We had so much fun!
We also stopped by the Mormon temple because it is pretty and I wanted mom to see it.
At the Polynesian Cultural Center
Signs that the "locals" made. They are protesting the American Government because they want to keep Hawaii sacred...don't get me started...but they should be glad America does a lot for this island!! Every branch of the military is out here, plus all the tourism!! Anyway, not everyone is like that. I guess these people are equivalent to the "rebel hillbillys" in the South. We have seen quite a few of these signs.
Carnival Cruise ship in Waikiki tonight. Tourists come in on them, get off, and stoll around for the night. That sounds fun!! Mom in front of the gigantic claw at Dave and Buster's. Sorry these pics aren't in great order!!
Example of the North/East shore of Oahu plants and trees and mountains Tunnel through the mountain!
